Value and Duration of Scholarship

Successful candidates will receive AUD $5,000, and the scholarship can extend for a maximum of 4 years for undergraduate students and up to 2 years for postgraduate coursework students, as long as they maintain ongoing eligibility.

Who Can Apply?

This chance is available for female-identifying international students starting an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Macquarie University in Session 1, 2025.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Women in STEM Scholarship at Macquarie University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, applicants need to be female-identifying students starting an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree within the Faculty of Science and Engineering in Session 1, 2025. Students need to be registered full-time and attending classes on campus, while also showcasing a solid academic performance and a clear capacity to put in effort, persevere, and reach their objectives. Candidates who can demonstrate financial hardship or disadvantage will be prioritized, including but not limited to economic difficulties, a non-English speaking background, geographic challenges, or disabilities.

This scholarship aims to assist and empower women in STEM by acknowledging academic excellence as well as equity factors

Required Documents

You must supply:

  • Two references: one from an educational source (like a school principal) and another from a person who can assess your qualifications.
  • A self-reflective statement addressing the following inquiries:
    • What motivated you to select this degree?
    • What are your goals upon finishing this degree?
    • In what ways could this scholarship impact your education and professional journey?
    • In what ways do you envision your impact on STEM as a female leader?

Selected candidates might have to attend a casual interview with representatives from Macquarie University.
