Job Responsibilities
The Telecommunications Equipment Technician will be responsible for various tasks, including:
- Diagnosing and locating faults in telecommunications equipment.
- Inspecting the operation of telecommunications systems.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining telephone equipment and wiring.
- Repairing or replacing defective telephone equipment.
- Testing installed telephone systems to identify transmission faults.
- Analyzing test results and adjusting or repairing the switching system and related equipment.
- Completing and maintaining test and service reports.
- Determining the nature, cause, and location of any troubles.
- Installing electromechanical, analog, and digital trunking systems in telecommunications centers.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Language: Must be fluent in English.
- Education: Must have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: At least 7 months to less than 1 year in the relevant industry is preferred.
