The Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduates (GKS-U) for the September 2025 enrollment is now officially open for applications. Programs and Tracks Offered for GKS-U September 2025 

• Embassy Track: Submit your application via the Korean embassy in your home nation and select a maximum of three universities (including at least one from Type B universities).
• University Track: Apply straight to a specific Korean university.

Available programs include: 

• Master’s Degrees: 3 years (1 year of language study + 2 years for the degree).
• Doctorate Programs: 4 years (1 year for language + 3 years for the degree).
• Research Initiatives: 6 months to 1 year.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the next round of the Global Korea scholarship for a bachelor’s degree for the September 2025 cohort, you must meet the following criteria:

• Citizenship: Must originate from a nation invited to take part in the GKS initiative.
• Age: Must be younger than 40 years (born on or after September 1, 1985).
• Education: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree for master’s programs or a master’s degree for doctoral programs by July 31, 2025.
• Academic Achievement: A minimum CGPA of 2.64 out of 4.0 or its equivalent.
• Language Skills: TOPIK Level 3 or above (preferred but not mandatory).

GKS-U 2025 Scholarship Benefits

Candidates who are successful in GKS-U September 2025 will be awarded:

• Flight cost: Round-trip tickets in economy class.
• Tuition Expenses: Completely funded (up to 5 million KRW each semester).
• Monthly Allowance: Varies between KRW 900,000 and 1,000,000.
• Korean Language Course: Expenses paid for while in the language program.
• Health Insurance: Protection is offered for the entire length of the scholarship.
• Settlement and Completion Grants: Monetary support for initial settlement and program fulfillment.
