Job Description
As a Registered Nurse, you will ensure the health and safety of individuals and families. You will administer a variety of nursing interventions. Required Qualifications
To qualify, you must be a graduate of a nursing education program. You should be eligible to apply for registration and a practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Additionally, you need certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS-HCP).
If you have not registered as a nurse in the last five years, you must complete specific courses. Access Chapters 1–4 of the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification and CRNA Medication Management.
Candidates should have at least one year of full-time experience in addictions and mental health within the past three years. Those who complete their final preceptorship at an Addiction and Mental Health site may qualify.
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI). Experience in juvenile and adolescent mental health is also desirable. Familiarity with mental health and addiction resources in the Calgary Zone is a plus.
Experience in verbal de-escalation techniques is beneficial. Understanding the Mental Health Act is an asset. Additionally, the ability to evaluate various risks, such as suicide and violence, is valuable.
