Canada PR: IRCC issues New PR ITAs | Express Entry Draw | PNP Draw | Canada Immigration
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently conducted a targeted draw under the Express Entry system, sending out 648 invitations to apply only for applicants in the Provincial Nominee Program. This was a major step in improving its provincial immigration pathways.
The government’s dedication to meeting the demands of the regional labor market and embracing qualified immigrants who can support Canada’s varied economy is demonstrated by this most recent attraction. This attraction demonstrates how Canada’s immigration environment is always changing, with provinces still playing a significant role in choosing applicants who meet their particular economic needs.
Introduction
Invitations to apply (ITAs) for the latest Express Entry draw have been sent out by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). In a draw that took into account applicants through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the government sent out 400 ITAs. To be eligible, candidates had to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 539.
The second Express Entry draw of the week was held today. 648 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates with a minimum CRS score of at least 791 were invited to the most recent one, which took place on October 21. The IRCC has been organizing several Express Entry draws every other week, typically with PNP and CEC-specific draws, in recent months.
This demonstrates the IRCC’s continued dedication to expanding the number of domestic draws for Express Entry applicants who are currently employed and residing in Canada as temporary residents. This approach was put into place to assist the department in reaching its goals of lowering the number of temporary residents in Canada and achieving the Immigration Levels Plan’s target number of new permanent residents that Canada will accept annually.
With goals for 2025–2027, the next plan is anticipated to be unveiled by November 1st of this year. 110,770 people are anticipated to arrive in 2024. If the IRCC achieved that goal, specifics have not yet been made public. The IRCC’s six-month service standard for processing Express Entry applications increases the likelihood of admission in 2025 for those who receive an ITA in drawings during the second half of the year.
What is Express Entry?
Three of Canada’s most well-known economic immigration programs—the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)—are managed by the application management system Express Entry.
By looking at a candidate’s human capital, including age, occupation, education, language proficiency, and work experience, these programs use the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to identify the candidates who have the best chance of contributing to the Canadian economy and filling urgent labor force shortages. The total CRS score is calculated by adding the scores assigned to each component.
Because province-nominated Express Entry candidates automatically earn an extra 600 points, CRS scores are frequently higher in PNP drawings. Additionally, candidates who immigrate with a spouse or partner or who have family in Canada may be awarded points. In a future Express Entry draw, the top scorers have the best chance of earning an ITA.
