Malaysia has streamlined the application procedure for Professional Visit Passes (PVPs), cutting the number of documents needed from 13 to 6. With effect from August 16, 2024, this modification seeks to facilitate foreign professionals’ work or training in Malaysia by streamlining the process.

• Remain in the nation for a maximum of twelve months.

Note: PVP holders are not qualified to submit a Dependency Pass application.

• Security Bond exclusively for applicants who are Chinese or Bangladeshi.
• Proof of employment or project agreement in the form of a contract or letter of award (LOA).
• Memorandum of Understanding (MoU): If relevant, it is an agreement between the employer and the worker.

Supplementary Records: If applicable, including:

• To install, maintain, or fix machinery.
• For outside specialists in mining operations.
• For testers using airplane simulators.
• For hotels that handle applications from students undergoing practical training.

Process to Apply for the Professional Visit Pass (PVP)

• Get the necessary paperwork ready: Gather the six required documents: a copy of your passport, the letter of application from your sponsor, bonds, the contract or Letter of Award (LOA), the Memorandum of Understanding (if applicable), and any additional supporting documentation that may be required.
• Apply: As directed by your sponsor, submit the entire set of paperwork to the Malaysian Immigration Department or via the official web portal.
• Wait for Approval: The application will be examined by the Malaysian Immigration Department. To prevent delays, make sure all documentation is accurate and comprehensive.
• Acquire the PVP: Upon approval, you will receive the Professional Visit Pass, which will grant you entry and temporary employment in Malaysia for a maximum of 12 months.
