South Australia 2024–25 General Skilled Migration Program Open: Australia Visa Update
To meet the wide needs of South Australia’s economy, the state-nominated Skilled Migration Program for 2024–25 has officially started. It offers skilled migrants a range of alternatives to live and work in one of Australia’s most dynamic States.
Professionals with the necessary qualifications from around the globe are invited to apply for State nomination under several streams in this program. The 2024–25 General Skilled Migration Program provides a wide range of choices for skilled migrants, both onshore and offshore. The three primary streams of the program are:
- Outer Regional Skilled Employment
- South Australian Graduate
- Skilled Employment Pathway
Additionally, positions exist for overseas applicants whose skills are in great demand in South Australia.
South Australia’s Onshore Streams
As there are 464 positions available for the onshore streams, eligible individuals who meet the requirements on the onshore side can immediately submit a Registration of Interest. ROIs will be reviewed throughout the year, and to be considered for a state nomination, invited applicants must apply through one of the methods listed below:
- Those who have worked in their skilled field in South Australia and have demonstrated their commitment to the country are eligible for the Skilled Employment in South Australia stream.
- The state of South Australia maintains its residents who study and work there in specialized fields through the South Australian Graduate Stream.
- Candidates who work in the region in their nominated or closely related occupation are eligible to apply for the Outer Regional Skilled Employment Stream. This stream was established to assist the area in addressing the lack of skilled labor in South Australia’s outer regions.
South Australian Offshore Stream
Prospective migrants living overseas who possess highly sought-after talents in South Australia are urged to apply for South Australia nomination through this stream, should their Skill-Select Expression of Interest (EOI) be accepted. Experienced overseas workers can apply for 427 posts, and South Australia anticipates that offshore invitation rounds will occur often during the program year.
It will begin with the program launch in September 2024 and run every month after that. Potential applicants should ensure that their Expression of Interest is accurate and up to date and that South Australia is their primary state of interest.
Other Streams and Application Fees in South Australia
We do not accept state submissions for the Provisional Visas on Business Innovation and Investment. If they fulfill the conditions, business or investor migrants holding a valid Temporary Visa Subclass 188 may apply for consideration of the Permanent Visa Subclass 888 or the Extension Stream.
Employer-sponsored initiatives in South Australia assist local firms that are having difficulty finding candidates in the local labor market. Expressions of Interest can be submitted for free, but there are application fees for South Australian nomination in 2024–2025; these can be found on the Migration South Australia website’s application fees page.
Skilled Occupation List and Registration of Interest
The skilled occupation list for South Australia for 2024–2025 has 427 positions for candidates from abroad and 464 positions for candidates from within the country. Over the past few years, South Australia’s skilled profession list has reflected the changing demands of the state labor market, with a focus on the following significant industries:
- Trades and Construction
- Health
- Education
- Natural and physical sciences
- Social and Welfare Professionals
As part of its dedication to research and development, South Australia is actively seeking individuals with specialized knowledge in the critical and digital technology domains. Notably, opportunities will continue to exist in a variety of fields for international graduates and those with temporary visas.
Before they may immediately apply for a state nomination, potential candidates must submit an ROI. Following that, South Australia will prioritize applications based on a set of Standards, giving temporary visa holders and international graduates special consideration. Making sure the state can make use of the talents of those who are currently strengthening its economy is the aim of this adjustment.
South Australia State Nomination Criteria
The government of South Australia has the power to designate skilled migrants to become part of its workforce. The 800 spot Skilled Work Regional Provisional Visa Subclass 491 and the 3000 spot Skilled Nominated Permanent Visa Subclass 190 are the two skilled migration visas for which the state can now nominate individuals.
Candidates for South Australian graduates and skilled employment in South Australia streams may apply for State nomination through the Outer Regional Skilled Employment Offshore.
