Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Essential
- A level of science or similar experience
- Working experience in ocular imaging or a similar area that is equal to a Level 4 diploma.
- Detailed knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the eye, as well as a thorough awareness of ophthalmic disorders.
- A thorough grasp of the visual pathway and its relationship with visual field abnormalities in various illnesses
- Proficient in operating the Humphrey visual field analyzer.
- The individual must be able to confidently and proficiently picture patients’ retinas, optic discs, and corneas with a variety of tools, including a fundus camera and retinal photography software. They should also be certified.
- Clear and effective communication is critical for explaining testing to patients who may have hearing difficulties or other barriers to comprehension.
