Eligibility Requirement
- Academic Performance: GPA of 2 point 30 out of 3 point 00 or higher
- Nationality: Must hold citizenship from a country with diplomatic ties to Japan. Priority regions include Africa, Southeast Asia, and Southwest Asia
- Age: Must be born on or after April 2, 1991
- Academic Background: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree by March 2026 or show an equivalent qualification
- Field of Study: The Intended Master program must relate to agriculture, climate resilience, food production, or similar fields
- English Proficiency: Must present CEFR B2 test results taken after Jan 1, 2024, or proof of an English medium degree

How to Apply
Important Dates for the 2026 Intake
Applicants must send all documents by email between December 8 and December 15, 2025, Japan Time. They must also send hard copies within the same window. Kagoshima University will send interview notices by January 5, 2026, and interviews will take place online on January 5 and 6, 2026. MEXT will publish the final results in February 2026.
