Financial Requirements to Be Eligible for UK Study VISA
The following documentation is required to apply for a UK study visa: proof of money for living and tuition costs
Tuition:
The amount listed on your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) for the first year of study.
Costs of Living:
- London: up to nine months at £1,334 a month.
- £1,023 a month, up to nine months, outside of London.
Statement from the Bank:
- The money needs to be in a bank statement that spans a full 28 days.
- The deadline for the time to terminate is 31 days or less before the application date.
Students who receive scholarships:
Students who get scholarships may need to meet fewer financial obligations. If the scholarship only partially pays for living expenses or tuition, you must show on your bank statement that you have the remaining cash available for the next 28 days.
Even if the scholarship pays for your living expenses and tuition in full, you must still demonstrate that you have the money to pay for any other costs that are not covered by the award. It is possible to waive the bank statement requirement for scholarships awarded by formal financial sponsors approved by the government of the United Kingdom.
You still need to submit proof of the scholarship award letter and a statement from the sponsor verifying the contents, even if the scholarship pays for everything.
