Work Permit Procedures in Oman

An employer needs to obtain a work permit from the Ministry of Manpower to obtain a work visa. An employee must fulfill approval conditions, such as having a minimum number of Omani citizens employed by the organization, to be eligible for a work visa.
The validity of the work visa is limited to two years from the date of entry into the country. Even after being hired, the person cannot begin working until all of their necessary applications—like their residency permit—have been completed.
