Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to oversee our complete financial management cycle. This pivotal role ensures robust fiscal control, supports strategic growth, and maintains full compliance across our dynamic agricultural enterprise.

As our Accountant, you will serve as the financial backbone of our operations. Your expertise will guide everything from daily bookkeeping to strategic planning, directly impacting our efficiency, profitability, and sustainable expansion in local and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting:

Maintain precise daily accounting records in full compliance with IFRS and Ghanaian standards.
Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Reconcile all bank, mobile money, and petty cash accounts regularly.
Manage accruals, prepayments, fixed asset registers, and inventory valuation accurately.

Operations and Cost Control:

Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely supplier payments and customer collections.
Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular stocktakes.
Implement effective cost-control systems to monitor production efficiency and operational expenditure.
Support quality assurance and traceability systems with reliable financial data.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

Prepare and submit all statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, SSNIT, and corporate tax filings.
Ensure full compliance with GRA, Registrar of Companies, and other regulatory requirements.
Strengthen internal controls across procurement, production, and distribution processes.
Facilitate annual audits and implement audit recommendations promptly.

Strategic Support:

Provide actionable financial insights to support management decision-making.
Develop cash flow forecasts and liquidity management strategies.
Prepare board-level financial reports and support budgeting processes.

Your Profile and Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Three to five years of progressive accounting experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Ghanaian tax regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally) and advanced Excel skills
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in manufacturing or agro-processing environments
Background in cost accounting and inventory management
Familiarity with ICS, traceability, or organic certification standards
Excellent written communication skills for comprehensive reporting
