About the Role

As an Azure Cloud Architect, your primary focus will be to guide the agency in navigating Azure’s architecture and security concerns. You will evaluate and recommend strategies for in-place migrations, lift and shift processes, and cloud-native transitions. Additionally, you will conduct testing to demonstrate minimal viable products and make necessary configurations to align with agency objectives.

Job Duties

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

Advising on Architecture: Provide guidance on architecture and security for the Azure environment.
Migration Strategies: Recommend strategies for on-premise to cloud-native migrations and lift-and-shift processes.
Testing: Conduct tests to illustrate minimal viable products for cloud architectures.
Configuration Management: Configure Azure services to support agency-level objectives effectively.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain professional documentation, including architecture specifications and position papers.
Security Posture Management: Manage cloud security activities, including vulnerability remediation and perimeter defenses.
DevOps Integration: Leverage Azure DevOps and GitHub for streamlined workflows and collaboration.

Job Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have:

At least 5 years of experience with cloud fundamentals.
Expertise in single and multi-cloud strategies.
Proficiency in Azure network and storage architectures.
Strong experience with Azure services, including Azure Key Vault and Entra ID.
Knowledge of security principles, including zero-trust and network segmentation.
Experience managing data storage solutions, such as SQL Server and Cosmos DB.
Effective documentation skills for technical and architectural documents.
Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect (2 years preferred).
Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and business teams.
