POSITION: Senior Accounts Officer

Job Description

West African Hardware & Decor Ltd, a leading supplier based in Adenta, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accounts Officer to join our dynamic finance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional to take on substantial responsibility within a rapidly expanding company.

As a Senior Accounts Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making. Your expertise will contribute directly to our operational efficiency and financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Assist in preparing accurate profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
Support management with financial analysis and performance insights
Help develop monthly and quarterly financial performance dashboards

Transaction Management:

Process payment vouchers and manage company disbursements
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable on a regular basis
Maintain and oversee petty cash management systems

Compliance and Audit:

Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures
Maintain compliance with external regulatory requirements including tax filings, municipal assemblies, DVLA, and EPA
Support periodic branch stock-taking and inventory audits

Record Keeping and Reconciliation:

Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized financial records
Conduct regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions

Additional Duties:

Execute other ad-hoc financial tasks as assigned by management
Support budget preparation and monitoring processes
Assist with year-end audit preparations and responses

Your Profile and Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Part qualification of ICA Ghana or ACCA
Minimum of three years of professional experience in an accounting environment
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Experience in the retail, manufacturing, or hardware sectors
Knowledge of Ghanaian tax regulations and compliance requirements
