Job Title: Finance and Administrative Intern

Amplio Ghana is a respected Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities through innovative knowledge-sharing programs. With over a decade of experience, we design and implement social and behavioral change initiatives across critical sectors, including health, agriculture, education, and climate change. Our renowned Talking Book technology has reached more than two million people across Ghana.
We are now offering a valuable paid internship for an aspiring finance and administration professional. This six-month role, based in Wa, Upper West Region, provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic NGO environment with potential for extension.
Position Overview
As a Finance and Administrative Intern, you will work closely with our Head of Finance and Administration to maintain robust financial systems and ensure efficient office operations. You will join a collaborative team that champions learning, transparency, and partnership while contributing directly to our mission-driven work.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Functions:
- Manage daily office operations in Wa, including supervising cleaning staff and coordinating logistics.
- Oversee office supply inventory, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely replenishment.
- Maintain organized filing systems for staff records and organizational correspondence.
- Manage visitor logbooks and facilitate official engagements for office guests.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to organizational development.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Accounting and Finance Duties:
- Review staff fund requests for accuracy and facilitate management approvals.
- Prepare precise payment vouchers and cheques for approved expenditures.
- Issue signed cheques to staff and vendors while occasionally processing bank transactions.
- Maintain a systematic filing system for all financial documents, including both electronic and hard copy formats.
- Record financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks accounting software.
- Monitor petty cash levels and coordinate timely replenishment when needed.
- Conduct routine banking errands to support financial operations.
- Complete additional finance-related tasks as directed by management.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum qualification of an HND in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software represents a significant advantage.
- Previous NGO experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong team collaboration skills with a commitment to organizational values.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- A valid motorbike riding license is required for operational mobility.
Compensation and Benefits
This paid internship offers a monthly allowance equivalent to the National Service allowance. More importantly, you will gain comprehensive exposure to NGO finance and administration while building professional skills that will accelerate your career development.
