Job Title: Finance Manager

Job Description
We are now inviting qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the pivotal role of Finance Manager. This position is central to ensuring the financial integrity and operational accountability of our humanitarian work in Ghana.
Job Purpose
The Finance Manager holds full responsibility for managing all accounting and financial operations within the Ghana office. This includes maintaining meticulous financial records in full compliance with international standards, preparing accurate financial statements, and implementing strong internal controls to safeguard organizational assets. You will also lead the budgeting process, participate in key procurement committees, and ensure strict adherence to all financial policies.
Key Responsibilities
Your expertise will drive our financial stewardship across several critical areas:
- Implement and enforce Qatar Charity’s comprehensive financial policies and procedures.
- Review and audit all financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance before system entry.
- Perform timely monthly bank reconciliations and manage the issuance of transfers and checks.
- Prepare and verify the monthly payroll, then submit it for final headquarters approval.
- Process project-related payment requests and ensure their accurate entry into the financial system.
- Manage office administrative expenses, ensuring all spending remains within approved budget limits.
- Maintain diligent vendor records and conduct necessary due diligence checks.
- Monitor the payment approval workflow to ensure the timely disbursement of funds.
- Reconcile accounts with external parties and manage contractor payments.
- Prepare monthly trial balances, financial reports, and annual financial statements.
- Actively participate in annual budgeting, procurement committees, and asset inventory processes.
- Analyze budget variances and provide strategic recommendations to management.
- Track staff advances and maintain an up-to-date fixed asset register.
- Facilitate internal and external audits by providing all required documentation and support.
Your Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
- A minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a similar managerial capacity.
- Previous experience with an international NGO is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a distinct advantage.
- Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong report writing skills in both Arabic and English. Proficiency in French is a valuable asset and must be highlighted in your CV.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management abilities.
- The capacity to work effectively under pressure and solve complex problems.
