Core Responsibilities

Your daily activities will encompass a comprehensive range of phlebotomy and patient care functions:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and care
Identify patients and verify personal information by reviewing identity documents thoroughly
Prepare specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to patients
Keep and maintain detailed records of patient names, volume of blood drawn, and diagnostic findings
Follow established protocols for specimen handling, processing, and storage
Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the blood collection process
Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control procedures
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy work area
Assist in managing patient flow and appointment scheduling
Respond to patient questions and concerns professionally and compassionately

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Foundation: Candidates must hold an HND or Bachelor’s Degree in any Medical Program from a recognized institution. This educational background should demonstrate comprehensive understanding of medical principles, anatomy, and patient care.
Professional Experience: We require a minimum of three years of similar work experience in a medical facility or equivalent setting. This experience should demonstrate proficiency in blood collection procedures and patient interaction.
Preferred Certification: Phlebotomist certification, if available, provides a distinct advantage. This certification confirms your commitment to professional standards and ongoing competency development.

Core Competencies Required:

Knowledge of ISO 15189:2022 standards and medical laws and ethics
Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise procedures
Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills
