POSITION: Head of Local Corporate
A leading financial institution is seeking a Head of Local Corporate to lead a unit focused on delivering comprehensive financial solutions to domestic mid cap and large cap corporations across diverse industries. If you possess deep understanding of corporate finance, treasury products, trade finance, and cash management, plus a proven track record of originating and executing complex lending transactions, this role offers the opportunity to drive strategic client acquisition, manage credit origination, and oversee portfolio performance.

Your Mission
You will formulate and implement local corporate strategy under Consumer & Commercial Banking, targeting medium and large domestic companies across sectors. Your role includes acquiring new corporate clients, deepening relationships with existing customers, and growing loans, deposits, trade finance, and fee income. Additionally, you will develop tailored solutions including working capital facilities, term loans, trade services, cash management, FX, and treasury products.

Business & Financial Performance
- You will formulate and implement local corporate strategy, targeting medium and large domestic companies across sectors.
- Acquiring new corporate clients and deepening relationships with existing customers to grow loans, deposits, trade finance, and fee income.
- Developing tailored solutions including working capital facilities, term loans, trade services, cash management, FX, and treasury products.
- Managing credit origination, structuring, negotiation, and documentation of corporate lending transactions.
- Ensuring rigorous credit analysis, risk assessment, and adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
Customer Excellence
- You will build a high performing team of corporate relationship managers, credit analysts, and product specialists.
- Leading portfolio management, monitoring covenants, reviewing performance, and managing early warning signs to maintain asset quality.
- Driving cross selling of digital platforms, payroll, insurance, asset management, and investment banking services.
- Coordinating with product, treasury, and trade finance teams to deliver competitive pricing and bespoke solutions.
- Developing sector specific expertise and insights to identify opportunities and mitigate risks in priority industries.
Leadership & People Management
- You will maintain close contact with C suite executives, board members, and key decision makers to understand strategic objectives.
- Overseeing onboarding, KYC/AML compliance, and client documentation processes to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Monitoring market trends, economic indicators, and competitor strategies to adapt product offerings and pricing.
- Collaborating with risk management, legal, compliance, and operations to ensure smooth transaction execution.
- Managing P&L for the local corporate portfolio, optimizing risk adjusted returns and cost efficiency.
Process, Control & Operational Performance
- You will lead strategic account planning, pipeline management, and deal origination activities.
- Advocating for clients internally and coordinating cross functional resources to provide holistic solutions.
- Developing strategic partnerships with professional service firms, business associations, and government agencies to expand reach.
- Representing the bank at industry events, forums, and business conferences to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership.
- Promoting ESG, sustainability, and responsible banking practices within the corporate client base.
Strategic Initiatives
- You will drive adoption of digital channels, cashless payment solutions, and automation in banking services.
- Reporting on portfolio performance, risk metrics, and strategic initiatives to affiliate and regional management.
- Ensuring timely resolution of client issues, service requests, and credit approvals to enhance client satisfaction.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of local regulations, tax laws, and economic policies impacting corporate clients.
- Fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer centricity within the team.
Key Success Factors
- Growth in corporate loans, deposits, trade volumes, and fee income.
- Improved wallet share and cross sell penetration across cash management, FX, trade, investment, and insurance products.
- High portfolio quality with acceptable non performing loan ratios and strong risk adjusted returns.

What You Bring to the Role
Experience & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, marketing, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification such as CFA, ACCA, ACIB, or ICA gives you an added advantage.
- Ten to twelve years of experience in corporate banking with significant exposure to credit structuring and relationship management.
- A proven track record of originating and executing complex corporate lending transactions.
- Deep understanding of corporate finance, treasury products, trade finance, and cash management.
- Strong risk management skills and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading teams and managing budgets and P&L.
- Ability to analyze industry trends, financial statements, and macroeconomic factors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
