As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen within a dementia-friendly residential care home environment. Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to specification
Present food in a friendly and efficient manner
Receive and check stock deliveries for quality and quantity
Maintain accurate food hygiene records
Support the Cook and deputise when required
Ensure high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
Operate catering equipment safely and correctly
Follow health and safety and food hygiene regulations

Requirements

Experience in large-scale catering or food service environments
Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and dietary requirements
Basic Food Hygiene certificate
NVQ Level 2 (City & Guilds) in Professional Cookery, or willingness to work towards
Knowledge of food hygiene standards
Understanding of health and safety in food preparation
Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check
Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
