As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen within a dementia-friendly residential care home environment. The role focuses on assisting with food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring residents receive high-quality meals tailored to their dietary needs.
New Bradley Hall provides residential care in a purpose-built, homely setting designed to promote dignity, independence, and well-being. This is a casual role, offering flexible hours based on operational requirements. The position is subject to an enhanced DBS check as part of pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to specification
- Present food in a friendly and efficient manner
- Receive and check stock deliveries for quality and quantity
- Maintain accurate food hygiene records
- Support the Cook and deputise when required
- Ensure high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
- Operate catering equipment safely and correctly
- Follow health and safety and food hygiene regulations
Requirements
- Experience in large-scale catering or food service environments
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and dietary requirements
- Basic Food Hygiene certificate
- NVQ Level 2 (City & Guilds) in Professional Cookery, or willingness to work towards
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards
- Understanding of health and safety in food preparation
- Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
