POSITION: Floor Manager

Imagine a role where no two days are the same. As the Floor Manager, you will orchestrate the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, the Recreation or Health Club, and potentially the Laundry. You are the driving force who ensures our guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas sparkle with cleanliness. Your leadership directly influences guest satisfaction and employee morale while we maintain our operational budget.
What You Will Bring to the Team
We believe in nurturing talent from various backgrounds. You could be an experienced professional with a high school diploma and at least two years in housekeeping or a related field. Alternatively, you might hold a two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration. If you have the education but less work experience, we still want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will span from hands-on inspections to big picture budget management. You will lead with visibility and purpose.
- Master the Operations: You will verify guest room status and communicate it efficiently to the Front Desk. Daily room inspections will become second nature as you uphold our rigorous standards. You will obtain lists of rooms needing immediate cleaning and track check outs to prepare smart work assignments for your team.
- Manage Resources Wisely: Inventory management falls under your purview. You will stock supplies, verify adequate levels, and ensure every employee has the proper tools, equipment, and uniforms to succeed. You will also understand how your department’s performance impacts the property’s financial goals and will manage your area to meet or exceed the budget.
- Lead and Communicate: Clear communication is your superpower. You will point out areas needing attention, follow up to confirm understanding, and supervise daily shifts to ensure compliance with all housekeeping policies. You will also participate in departmental meetings to keep everyone aligned and motivated.
- Champion Your Team: People are at the heart of our success. You will use on the job training tools to mentor new room attendants and provide follow up training as needed. You will establish open, collaborative relationships and encourage your team to do the same. Scheduling employees to match business demands and tracking their time and attendance will be part of your routine.
- Uphold Fairness and Recognition: You will administer property policies fairly and consistently. This includes completing disciplinary procedures according to our standards when necessary. More importantly, you will celebrate successes and publicly recognize the contributions of your team members. You will solicit employee feedback and maintain an open door policy to address any concerns promptly.
