Job Title: Security Coordinator

Responsibilities

As the Security Coordinator, you will not just react to incidents. Instead, you will anticipate them. You will develop preparedness measures, implement security programmes, and oversee every aspect of physical security and life safety. You will be the person management turns to when security questions arise.

Here is exactly what you will own:

  • Document Everything: You will ensure proper documentation of all occurrences within the bank’s facilities. Every incident will have a record.
  • Train Security Personnel: You will ensure all security guards understand every procedure and protocol. You will provide training including routine fitness drills.
  • Report Regularly: You will write and submit quarterly security reports on the state of security across the bank. Management will rely on your insights.
  • Coordinate Programmes: You will take charge of the bank’s overall security programmes and initiatives. You will drive them forward.
  • Implement Policies: You will put in place security policies, procedures, and standards that minimize risk associated with crime. Staff and customers will feel safer because of your work.

Your Qualifications:

  • Educational Foundation: You hold a minimum of a First Degree in a related field of study.
  • Experience: You have at least 8 years of working experience at the Officer category. This experience could come from:
    • A bank or corporate environment
    • A state intelligence organisation
    • Law enforcement
    • A military related field
  • Communication Skills: You possess strong demonstrable communication and negotiation skills. You can extract and analyze data for decision making.
  • Professional Network: You have the demonstrable ability to establish and maintain professional networks with law enforcement agencies and other banks.
  • Technical Proficiency: You can use Windows Office Suite to support security projects. You understand alarm systems, card access systems, fire suppression systems, and CCTV footage analysis. You also have good knowledge of IT systems.
  • Training Ability: You can train security officers effectively, equipping them to deliver on their duties.
  • Customer Service: You possess excellent customer service skills. You understand that security also means service.
