POSITION: Smart Home Retail Assistant

Role Overview
The Smart Home Retail Assistant will support daily showroom operations while actively promoting smart home devices to walk-in and online customers. In addition, the role focuses on product demonstrations, sales processing, stock coordination, and after-sales support. You will also contribute to retail growth by maintaining engaging product displays and strengthening customer relationships.
Furthermore, this position requires strong communication skills, technical curiosity, and a proactive sales mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Sales and Customer Engagement
You will play a frontline role in interacting with customers and guiding them through smart home solutions. Your responsibilities include:
- Welcome and assist walk-in and online customers professionally
- Demonstrate smart home devices such as sensors, cameras, switches, hubs, and smart lighting systems
- Explain product features, compatibility, and benefits clearly
- Recommend products based on customer needs and budget
- Upsell and cross-sell complementary devices to increase sales value
- Support monthly showroom sales targets
Product Knowledge and Demonstration
To succeed in this role, you must continuously strengthen your understanding of smart technologies. Therefore, you will:
- Maintain working knowledge of WiFi-enabled automation, Zigbee systems, and smart home platforms
- Stay updated on new product releases and promotions
- Set up and maintain functional demo units within the showroom
- Guide customers through basic installation steps and mobile app configuration
Stock and Inventory Support
Accurate stock control ensures smooth retail operations. As part of your duties, you will:
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages promptly
- Assist with stock receiving, labeling, and shelf arrangement
- Reconcile physical stock with ERP records
- Maintain clean and visually appealing product displays
Sales Administration
In addition to customer interaction, you will support transaction processing and documentation by:
- Processing sales through POS or ERP systems
- Issuing invoices and receipts accurately
- Maintaining daily sales records
- Supporting warranty documentation and product return procedures
Customer Service and After-Sales Support
Excellent service builds long-term customer trust. Therefore, you will:
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve basic complaints
- Escalate technical issues to the technical support team when necessary
- Assist with warranty claims and product returns
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction
Showroom Presentation and Brand Support
You will also represent the company brand through professional presentation and organized displays by:
- Maintaining showroom cleanliness and product arrangement
- Ensuring demo devices remain functional and powered
- Supporting promotional events and product activation campaigns
Health, Safety, and Compliance
The role requires adherence to company operational standards. You will:
- Follow all HSE-Q procedures and safe work practices
- Identify hazards and support risk assessments
- Ensure proper use of tools and equipment
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in retail sales, electronics sales, or smart home/ICT environments
- Experience using POS or ERP systems will be an advantage
