Applications are open for AWARD’s Women in Agriculture Leadership Fellowship. This two-year, non-residential fellowship builds African women’s agricultural leadership. This fellowship covers all programme costs but provides no cash stipend. The Africa-Australia Partnership funds this second cohort.

About the Fellowship

AWARD builds a pipeline of influential African women agricultural scientists. Fellows join mentoring partnerships alongside structured leadership training courses. The inaugural cohort began with a Dakar leadership and negotiation course. Fellows gain community alongside technical and strategic skill-building.

What Fellows Receive

The fellowship fully covers all training, mentoring, and workshop-related costs. Fellows get matched with both a mentor and a mentee. Training spans leadership, gender integration, and proposal writing skills. No individual cash stipend accompanies this fellowship’s cost coverage.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must be mid-career women scientists in the six eligible countries. A master’s degree and seven years of relevant experience are required. Candidates should work in research institutions, ministries, or universities. Experience with gender in agriculture research strengthens any application.
