The Utility Coordinator will work under moderate supervision to manage and support utility coordination activities during the planning and design phases of transportation projects. Responsibilities

  • Analyze survey data, drawings, aerial photography, and Subsurface Utility Engineering plans
  • Organize and review utility design information from multiple sources for accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate and communicate with utility owners regarding relocation efforts
  • Conduct and participate in meetings to ensure project schedule milestones are met
  • Prepare Utility by Others’ plans and related documents using design software
  • Maintain strong working relationships with utility companies and public agencies
  • Support project teams with coordination, documentation, and technical input
  • Perform occasional field work and site visits as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (advanced education preferred)
  • 2–4 years of related experience in utility coordination and/or design (preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, and other design software
  • Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
  • Ability to work both in the office and in the field under varying conditions
  • Experience with SCDOT or NCDOT projects is an advantage
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform light physical field duties
