US Consulates to Ask Applicants to Visit New Visa Centre
In a post on social media on Thursday, the US Consulate in Hyderabad announced that it has a new Visa Application Center (VAC) and asked all applicants to go there for their planned appointments, document submissions, and passport pickups.
Lower Concourse, HITEC City Metro Station, Madhapur, Hyderabad – 500081 is the place of the new US Visa Application Center in Hyderabad.
In another update, however, the consulate said that the address of the US Consulate in Hyderabad has “No Change” and that all visa interviews will continue to be held at its current position in Begumpet.
In the first half of 2023, the Financial District in Hyderabad will be home to the biggest US port in Asia. The 12.2-acre building will have 54 places where visas can be processed and other new features. The US spent $297 million on building the new foreign office. Jennifer Larson, the US Consul General in Hyderabad, will be in charge of it.
The US Consulate General in Hyderabad, which opened in 2009, was the first US diplomatic office to open in India after the country got its freedom. The bond between the US government and the Indian states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha is shown by the US Consulate General in Hyderabad.
US Visa Appointment Wait Times in Hyderabad
Another good thing for people in Hyderabad who want to get a US visa is that the wait time for an appointment, which was around 1000 days in late 2022, has gone down a lot. The wait time for the most popular B1/B2 visas, which require an interview, is now only 261 days.
But even though the US is trying to cut down on appointment wait times, it’s hard for students asking for US visas at the Consulate in Hyderabad to get slots, especially those who want to start college in the US in January. These kids are waiting with bated breath for their appointments.

A person from the US State Department recently said that the US is doing everything it can to shorten the time people have to wait for their visa interviews in India. The official said that visa processing is getting better faster than thought and will be back to how it was before the pandemic in the next year.
