POSITION: Research Fellows
The Governing Council of the University of Ghana recently approved the creation of the Legon Centre for Education Research and Policy (LCERP) at the College of Education. The Centre’s mission is to build an authoritative research platform dedicated to improving participatory research and advocating for educational quality. The Vision is to be known for producing accurate research results, offering a reputable forum for advocacy, and encouraging excellence in capacity building. The Centre is now hiring researchers to fill vacant positions.
The College of Education, University of Ghana, hereby invites applications from properly qualified individuals for appointment as Research Fellows in the Legon Centre for Education Research and Policy, effective immediately.
Qualifications & Experience
Eligibility Criteria and Attributes:
Successful candidates must:
- Possess a PhD in Education, Economics, Development Studies, or a comparable social scientific field.
- Preferably have a strong quantitative background.
- Be fluent in any statistical package for data management (e.g., STATA, SPSS, etc.).
- Exhibit or possess the ability to seek money for research and innovation.
- Be innovative and able to perform well under pressure while meeting deadlines.
JOB ROLE
Successful applicants are expected to complete responsibilities that may include the following:
- Actively promote the mission and functions of LCERP.
- Create thorough work plans for research activities, including schedules for developing and submitting funding submissions.
- Conduct individual research or participate in the Centre’s broader research and scholarly initiatives to raise its reputation.
- Actively cooperate with colleagues to discover external funding options, develop grant bids, and distribute research results and conclusions.
- Stay current on all organizational development information and methods.
- Conduct restricted teaching in departments and oversee graduate students affiliated with the Centre.
Location: Accra.
