University of Exeter Business School Scholarships 2023/2024
The University of Exeter Business School MRes + Ph.D. Scholarships in Economics 2023/2024 for Black British Researchers are now accepting applications. World-class researchers who will influence our understanding of and responses to the most significant social challenges are trained at the University of Exeter Business School.
For Black British researchers, they are providing a 3-year doctorate fellowship in addition to a 2-year MRes. They are eager to receive applications from Black applicants for the UK home fee status (Black or Black British African, Black or Black British Caribbean, Black or Black British other, or Mixed Black or Black British).
Scholarship
- Total annual compensation (wages plus stipend): £21,789.60
- The full price of tuition at the UK rate
- 180 hours of teaching pay: approximately £3238.20 (2022/23 rates, subject to tax and national insurance)
- £18551.40 per year (2022–23 rate)
Eligibility
You may do so if you:
- Possess one of the following racial or ethnic groups:
- A black African
- African Caribbean
- Black Other
- White and Black Caribbean mix
- White and Black Africans who are mixed
- Additional mixed backgrounds (to include Black African, Black Caribbean, or Black Other)
- Are a candidate for full-time MRes-PhD studies, and
- Have “Home” tuition fee status and are a student in the UK.
Application
By midnight on Friday, March 31, 2023, you must submit the application form together with the corresponding uploads of the required documents.
You will be required to upload a number of papers during the application process. Notice their preferred format is PDF, each file labeled with your surname and the name of the document, eg. “Smith – CV.pdf”, “Smith – Cover Letter.pdf”, “Smith – Transcript.pdf”.
The following files must be uploaded:
- A maximum-length essay of 750 words should explain:
- The rationale behind your scholarship application
- Why you should be awarded the scholarship
- Your goals for the MRes + Ph.D. route that you selected
- A CV that is no longer than two pages
- Original transcripts or verified copies of all previous degrees’ academic records
- Two academic recommendations (one must be from your most recent institution)
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Cambridge score report, if pertinent, valid, and original (if required).
