University of Debrecen International Scholarship 2023

Foreign students with strong academic credentials can apply for the UD International Scholarship Program at the University of Debrecen to continue their studies in the sciences and agriculture.

SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE

The scholarship recipient is eligible for a 30% to 90% tuition fee discount for the first year.

Based on their academic performance from the previous year, the scholarship bearer is eligible for a tuition fee decrease starting in the second year.

Eligibility

• The student must not be a citizen of Hungary.
• Undergraduate program: At the time of application, the student must have completed high school or be in their final year.
• Graduate program: At the time of application, the student must hold a BSc or BA degree or be in their final year of BSc or BA coursework.
• Students must have a passport or other government-issued ID while applying.
• The University will only consider students for the scholarship if they correctly filled out their application, provided all necessary supporting documentation, and sent the application fee to the University’s bank account.

Application Materials

• Fill out an online application at edu.unideb.hu. The online application form must be completely filled out in English by the applicant and saved.
• Letter of Motivation: at least one page, typed in Times New Roman 12-point font.
• 2 letters of recommendation
• An admission interview or a scanned copy of the original proof of language ability with a minimum level of B2 (CERF). A verification confirming the language of instruction was English can be uploaded if the student finished their prior level of study in English.

Academic Certificates and translations thereof, including:

• Scanned copies of the original secondary school diploma or its equivalent AND an English translation are required for bachelor’s degrees (in case the original is in another language).
• At the graduate level, you must submit both an English translation and a scanned copy of your original Bachelor’s degree certificate (in case the original is in another language).
• Transcripts of Records, along with their translation, for all semesters or school years that the student has previously completed while enrolled in classes (at the highest level of education in which they have taken part).
• Copy of Identity Document: Upload a scanned copy of the data page from the applicant’s passport if they already have one. The applicant should provide a scanned copy of their national ID card if they do not yet have a passport.
• Certification of health. You may find the template at edu.unideb.hu.
• A bank statement showing the 150 USD application fee was transferred (non-refundable).
• Applications to master’s programs have additional criteria, including a thorough CV, a Bachelor’s degree, a thorough transcript, and explanations of the undergraduate courses the applicant took.

Timeline for Applications

• The next round of applications for the September intake will open in February 2023.
• Call for applications is open starting in January and closes on February 1, 2023.
• Application cutoff date: March 31, 2023
• Period for application review and entrance exam: 31 March – 30 April 2023
• The results of the selection will be announced on May 15, 2023.
• Admissions must be accepted by May 31, 2023.
