Job Description

Chirano Gold Mine is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated, and resourceful person to fill the position of Underground Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Make sure the underground mine works according to business, federal, provincial, and municipal standards.
• Take part in strategic planning with the top level of management.
• Set and meet goals for general safety, production, and cost.
• Work with cross-functional teams to set the direction and make plans for the mine in the mid-to-long-term.
• Use continuous growth to get the most out of operational assets and resources.
• Start, create, and use policies and processes for the mine.
• The person in charge of developing, keeping track of, and improving all workers’ safety performance.
• Support and maintain a value-based Safety Management System that allows for a continuous process of finding and managing hazards and risks, tracking compliance, and getting employees involved.
• Make sure that the JHSEC (Joint Health, Safety, and Environment Committee) and employees’ safety issues are taken care of quickly.
• Make sure your workers have the tools and methods they need to do their jobs safely and well.
• Make sure that workers get the training they need to reach their full potential and help the company reach its goals.

Requirements

• University degree or post-secondary diploma in a technical field.
• Common Core qualifications and safety licenses.
• Excellent understanding of ways to mine underground, blasting, ventilation, and mine services.
