Fellowship Objective
The UKRI Policy Fellowships aim to connect academia and public policy by integrating researchers into policy settings to address some of the most pressing issues of our era. Fellows will engage with current policy issues, foster innovation, and enhance the utilization of evidence in decision-making processes.
Available Types of Fellowships at UKRI
The 2025 initiative provides three unique pathways:
Core Policy Fellowships
For academics in the early to mid-stages of their careers concentrating on significant public policy priority areas in the UK. These could correspond with governmental objectives in sectors such as health, education, justice, climate, and others.
Natural Hazards and Resilience Fellowships
For scholars aiming to enhance resilience against natural calamities like severe weather phenomena and geological threats. Ideal for scholars in environmental sciences, engineering, and similar disciplines.
What Works Innovation Fellowships
Available to researchers at all career levels, these fellowships are positioned within the What Works Network and emphasize the generation, application, and dissemination of strong evidence to enhance public services.
