Types of Foods to Take or Avoid for O Positive Blood Type

A blood type (also known as a blood group) is a classification of blood, based on the presence and absence of antibodies and inherited antigenic substances on the surface of red blood cells (RBCs). These antigens may be proteins, carbohydrates, glycoproteins, or glycolipids, depending on the blood group system.

Some of these antigens are also present on the surface of other types of cells of various tissues. Several of these red blood cell surface antigens can stem from one allele (or an alternative version of a gene) and collectively form a blood group system.

Consuming food based on your ‘Blood Type’ helps in better digestion, increases energy levels, and prevents diseases and illnesses. Moreover, it also helps you lose weight.
Here are the food items you should consume and avoid, according to blood group O positive.

But before that a few facts about blood group O positive.

  • In major traumas with massive blood loss, many hospitals transfuse O-positive blood, even when the patient’s blood type is unknown. The risk of reaction is much lower in ongoing blood loss situations and O positive is more available than O negative. Type O-positive blood is critical in trauma care.
  • Those with O-positive blood can only receive transfusions from O-positive or O-negative blood types. Over 80% of the population has a positive blood type and can receive O-positive blood. That’s another reason it’s in such high demand
