About the Role

As a Transportation Technician I, you will be part of JMT’s Construction Management team, supporting quality assurance, safety, and compliance activities during and after transportation construction projects. Responsibilities

Inspect roadway and bridge construction activities to verify compliance with plans and specifications
Perform routine materials testing in accordance with project and NCDOT standards
Measure, calculate, and track quantities for contractor pay items
Collect and maintain accurate project documentation, including certifications and test reports
Prepare and update inspectors’ daily diaries and field records
Support overall construction quality, safety, and regulatory compliance on-site

Requirements

Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Valid and active driver’s license with successful motor vehicle screening
Ability to work safely in active construction environments and lift up to 50 lbs
Willingness to work nights and weekends when required
NCDOT certifications (Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, Conventional Density Testing) preferred
Prior construction inspection experience on NCDOT projects is an advantage
