The Position
• The Transport Officer of the Commission is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Traffic section of the commission
Duties/Responsible
The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following:
• General administration of the Transport section with the responsibility for repairs, maintenance and smooth running of the commission’s fleet of vehicles
• Supervise record keeping of log book by drivers and to ensure timely servicing and renewal of documentation
• Responsible for training of subordinate staff
• Ensure efficient and effective management and control of the transport system
• Coordinate effectively with the institutes/cost centres on matters with respect to procurement and maintenance of vehicles
• Any other job assigned by the Director of Administration
Qualification Required & Experience
• Should possess a degree or equivalent certificate in Transport/Taffic Management, preferably a Master’s degree
• Must have a minimum of valid Ghanaian Driver’s License (D)
• Must have at least 10 years relevant experience
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience at Senior Management level
• Leadership skills
• Monitoring and Evaluation skills
• Communication, report writing and presentation skills
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance
Tenure:
The position is for a 3 year term only but may be renewed for a second term
