TOEFL is an acronym for Test of English as a Foreign language. It is the accepted test that is used to assess the English language proficiency of foreigners who do not speak English but desire to enroll in universities that use English as a form of communication. TOEFL is one of the major English language test in the world required by many English-speaking academic and professional institutions.
TOEFL test evaluates the level at which you can use and understand the English language. Additionally, it assesses how well you can read, listen, speak, and write to perform academic tasks at the same time.

TOEFL Online Registration Procedures in Ghana
There are number of ways you can register for your TOEFL. They include registering online, by phone or by mail.
Registration by phone
Before calling, you need to review the Registration Form (PDF). You should spell your name like you have on your ID.
- Visit www.ets.org/toefl/contact and select your location (Ghana) to find the phone number for your Regional Registration Center (RRC).
- Pay with your VISA card.
- Registration closes 7 days before your test date.
- You are supposed to register by 5pm before the close of business at your local test center. Failure to do that attracts a late fee of USD 40.
Also, Registration by mail
- Download and fill out a Registration Form (PDF).
- Ensure to spell your name exactly as it appears on the ID you will bring on test day.
- Select any of the payment methods on the form.
- Mail your form and payment to your RCC.
- Ensure that your forms are received at least 4 weeks before your test date.
- Call the location where you mailed your paperwork if you don’t receive a confirmation. It should be at least 3 business days before your registration deadline.
- If you register by mail you will need to enter certain codes manually that are input automatically online.
Finally, Registering online
- Registration can be done 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
- Ensure that the name you register with matches the ID you’ll bring on the test day.
- Proceed to make payment with your VISA cards. It should be noted that visa card are accepted for only Ghanaians.
Other available options for payment include American Express®️, Discover®️, JCB®️, China Union Pay®️, Diners Club®️, Mastercard®️. You can also use a PayPal®️ account, or an electronic check (e-check) if you have a bank account in the United States or its territories.
