Today is exactly 6 years after the disappearance of popular musician, Theophilus Tagoe, better known as Castro and Janet Bandu.
On 6th July 2014, Ghana was hit with a sad news which suggested that Castro and his girlfriend had drowned. The couple went on a holiday at the Ada Estuary with the Gyan brothers. The hiplife artiste and his girlfriend were reported to have drowned after a jet ski accident. The jet ski was retrieved on the same day the incident happened yet the bodies of Castro and Janet were not found. The two have still not been seen or heard from in spite of efforts made by the police. There were a lot of debate as to whether the pair were alive or dead. Nevertheless, everyone was hoping that the musician and Janet would return but 6 years and still counting and no one knows their whereabouts.
According to the Evidence Act of 1975, section 33, an individual can only be legally pronounced dead after 7 years of not been heard from or seen. As a result, if Castro and Janet do not return before the seven year period, they would finally be declared dead.
Narrating events surrounding the disappearance of Castro the destroyer, Asamoah Gyan, a close friend of Castro mentioned that they went to Akosombo the preceding years; the only time they decided to go to Aqua Safari that year the sad incident happened. The footballer also stated that Castro was initially not part of the trip because he was going to Kumasi but he decided to join them. For Baby Jet, what happened to Castro was meant to happen.
