On 12th September, 2020 saw a very great performance from the Dancehall giants in the country. Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in heated clash totally exhibited talent on stage at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.
The historical show was streamed live online and some fans were also given the chance to attend the clash.
Shatta and Stone that night went head to head with their hit songs to rock the stage. When everything came to a successful end, it was now time to declare a winner but then it was obvious that they all deserved the crown hence impossible to declare one winner over the other.
Head of Marketing, Communications Event and Promotions at Asaase Radio, Naomi Nelson-Barnes speaking on the event stated that the kind of performance that was seen by both artistes was way beyond what was ever imagined and they are happy they were able to put this event together. She stated that they cannot determine who the dancehall King is. She said that they have left it completely in the hand of the general public to decide for themselves.
Before the Sound Clash, Asaase Radio engaged in several activities such as donating Personal Protection Equipments (PPEs) at the Ashaiman Polyclinic in Ashaiman, the home base of the BHIM Nation, and at the Korlebu Polyclinic in Korlegono where the Shatta Movement hails from.
As reported by NewsNowGh sometime ago, there was also a text-and-win on air promotion in which the general public was asked to text to a dedicated short code and say who they think the King of Dancehall is. To this, the person with the highest number of texts at the end would win a brand new KUV.
Thousands of people texted in, with the results fluctuating from more texts swaying towards one artist and the swaying back to the other.
At 8:30pm on the day of the event, the polls were closed. Once the system had concluded collating all the results within the five-minute processing period, right before the closing time, Mr. Patrick Mensah Nartey emerged the winner of the promotion with 48, 775 text messages in support of his favourite artist.
Mr. Patrick Nartey was presented with the brand new Mahindra KUV 100 in a short ceremony at Asaase Radio in Cantonments.
Mr. Patrick, the winner of the car happens to be a very strong and dedicated Shatta Movement fan.
The CEO of Asaase Radio took to this and cleared the air among the many he has talked about that although an SM fan has won the car, this does not mean the SM camp has won anything over the BHIM nation side.
