The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social protection has released a statement condemning Rosemond Brown aka Akuapem Poloo’s actions on social media on her son’s birthday.

Tuesday 30th June 2020 was Akuapem Poloo’s son’s birthday. In celebrating him, the social media queen posted a nude picture of herself squatting in front of her son on instagram. Her post made people “go gaga”. Many people denounced the conduct she put up on Instagram. However, well-known personalities like Efia Odo and Asamoah Gyan rallied behind Akuapem Poloo for posing naked with her tender child on social media.

She disclosed that she only posted that picture to send a message to children and adults who disregard their parents. She aimed at telling children who abandon their parents because they do not have clothes to wear to get closer to them. She furthered by apologizing to everyone who was offended by her post.

Today, the ministry of gender, children and social protection has issued an official statement condemning Akuapem Poloo’s act. The statement signed by  Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison considered Poloo’s act as indecent and pornographic which is against the Children’s Act,1998 (Act 560) and the Criminal and Other Offences Act,(Act 30).

The ministry says that they are collaborating with the appropriate agencies to deal with the issue. The ministry finally entreated all and sundry to desist from sharing nude pictures on social media as it is a serious offense.
