The Experiment Summer Programs 2027
High school students seeking an unforgettable summer experience can now apply for The Experiment in International Living’s Summer 2027 programs. This initiative transforms the world into a classroom, offering immersive international travel, cultural exchange, and hands-on learning opportunities. The application deadline is February 15, 2027.
What the Program Offers
For more than 90 years, The Experiment has provided intercultural exchange programs designed around meaningful community engagement rather than conventional tourism. Participants step outside their comfort zones, develop independence, and understand the world from fresh perspectives.
Programs combine international travel with experiential learning. Depending on destination and theme, students may live with host families, participate in cultural activities, study languages, develop specialised skills, take part in internships, or earn college credit through selected programs.
Available Destinations and Themes
The Experiment offers diverse programs across multiple regions:
- France: Cultural Discovery exploring Paris, Lyon, and provincial host communities
- Ecuador: Galápagos Islands and Cloud Forest combining biodiversity, conservation, and adventure
- Italy: Culinary Training and Culture featuring Rome, Asti, and family homestay in southern Italy
- Additional destinations: Germany, Ghana, Japan, Panama, South Korea, and Spain
Programs focus on culture, language, food, international relations, environmental exploration, arts, and other specialised themes.
Skills Students Develop
International immersion builds capabilities valuable for college and careers:
- Leadership and intercultural communication
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Teamwork and independence
- Adaptability and cross-cultural awareness
- Confidence and global perspective
Health, Safety, and Inclusivity
The Experiment emphasises health, safety, and risk management as integral to its programming. The organisation continually identifies, mitigates, and manages risks while following relevant guidelines. It also prioritises recruiting students from diverse backgrounds, creating environments where participants learn from different perspectives and lived experiences.
How to Apply
Submit your application through The Experiment’s official portal. Required materials include:
