Eligibility Requirements for the Afrika Kommt program

To apply for this program, you must:

• Be a citizen of any African nation
• Possess a university degree in a relevant subject.
• Having a postgraduate degree (such as an MBA) is advantageous.
• Have 2 to 5 years of job experience.
• Have strong English language abilities.
• Basic familiarity of the German language is advantageous.
• Must not be older than 35 years at the time of application.

How to Apply for the Program

Step 1

Check the general candidate requirements to see if you meet the criteria and eligible for the programme.

Step 2

• Check the available fellowship placements and required profiles for the new AFRIKA KOMMT intake!
• Fellowship placements will only be accessible during the application process.
• Your application will be evaluated for the entire AFRIKA KOMMT! programme; however, you are required to select a maximum of two profiles in the application form and provide reasons for your selection.

Step 3

• Register at https://application.afrika-kommt.de and complete the application form in English.
• Applications in other languages will not be accepted.
• In addition to filling out the application form, you will be required to attach a brief presentation on your motivation, a proposal for a change initiative, a photo, and your certificates.

Regarding the idea for a change initiative:

One of the goals of AFRIKA KOMMT! is to provide a platform that empowers young African professionals to propose change projects that address social and economic concerns in their respective nations. Please think of a change initiative that you would like to implement in your nation. You will be asked four questions regarding your proposal on the application form.

Step 4:

Submit your application by the deadline (tbc). Late applications will not be considered.

You will receive feedback on your application around 8-12 weeks after the formal application deadline. The partner companies may call you to conduct a brief phone interview with you. If your application has cleared the pre-selection stage, you will be invited to a two-day assessment centre.
