Eligibility Requirements
This fellowship is available to emerging researchers globally who:
- Have obtained their PhD on or after March 1, 2022, or will complete it within the upcoming 12 months.
- Are presently living outside of Germany
- Have never obtained their doctorate from TUM and are not presently employed at TUM.
- Desire to partner with a TUM faculty member, research institute, or laboratory in any area of study.
- Every academic field is invited! What’s the sole requirement? Your suggested project should be in accordance with the research of your selected TUM host.

Required Documents

- Motivational Letter
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum 5 pages) including publication list.
- Best publication (PDF)
- PhD diploma or proof of submission/letter from the supervisor
- Recommendation letter from your doctoral advisor
- Names of a maximum of three (03) desired TUM hosts.
- A host letter isn’t necessary at this stage, but you will find and engage with your future host during the pairing process.
Only candidates who are shortlisted will proceed to submit:
- Complete research proposal (up to 4 pages)
- Authorized Support Letter from a verified TUM host (including a 20% co-financing agreement).
Fellowship Benefits
