About the Internship Program

The internship corresponds with the objectives of the Global South, specifically advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and a rights-based perspective on health.

What You Will Obtain

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, candidates must:

  • Possess fluency in English (knowledge of French or Spanish is an advantage).
  • Be presently enrolled in or have recently completed a postgraduate program in international human rights law.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in SRHR, health equality, and policy matters concerning the Global South.
  • Have skills in research, analysis, and writing.
  • Stay organized, maintain clear communication, and work together effectively.
  • Show understanding of and empathy towards the difficulties encountered by developing nations (G77 + China).
  • Priority is awarded to citizens of developing nations or those with demonstrated knowledge of Global South viewpoints.

Structure and Timeline of the Internship 

  • Minimum Timeframe: 3 months
  • Obligation: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Location: Geneva Headquarters or remote (virtual)
  • Summer Internships: A minimum duration of 10 weeks is necessary.

Intern Duties 

  • Coordinate side events at key forums such as the WHO and the HRC.
  • Assist with research, policy formulation, and advocacy planning regarding SRHR and health rights.
  • Support workshops and training for diplomats from the Global South.
  • Create instructional and bargaining resources.
  • Participate in collaborative advocacy efforts and policy discussions.
