Job Duties
As a Swine Production Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with team members to achieve farm goals and specific department duties.
- Monitoring the health and comfort of sows, gilts, and piglets through daily checks.
- Weighing, sorting, and handling pigs as needed.
- Feeding, watering, and vaccinating animals while performing general husbandry tasks.
- Power washing pens and preparing rooms for new animal entries.
- Keeping accurate records on animal identification and health.
- Following strict biosecurity protocols for the barn.
- Assisting with barn cleaning and laundry duties as required.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess the following:
- A self-motivated and reliable work ethic.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A college certificate or specialized training in agriculture or livestock husbandry is preferred, along with 1-2 years of experience.
- Foreign recruits must have an IELTS score of at least 4 in all sections of the General Module Test.
