The West Virginia University Scholarships application process is already open for the 2024 academic year, and interested students from other countries are encouraged to apply.
About West Virginia University Scholarships
West Virginia University works hard to give all of its students an inclusive education. We are happy to provide academic scholarships to incoming first-year international students.
Scholarships and ideals are dynamic and subject to change annually. This year’s scholarship values and information apply only to new freshmen entering in the fall of 2024; they do not apply to students enrolled in earlier semesters or classes.
Concerning West Virginia University
One of West Virginia’s state colleges in the United States, West Virginia University is a public, coeducational, land-grant university. In Morgantown, West Virginia University has two campuses. The Agricultural College of West Virginia was its original name when it was founded in 1867, but that name was removed the following year when it changed to West Virginia University.
With over 70 master’s and over 25 Ph.D. programs among its 160 degree offerings, it is made up of 13 colleges and institutions. Dentistry, law, medical, and pharmacy colleges grant professional degrees. In addition to operating experimental farms, forests, and a geology camp, the institution carries out research in the fields of energy, coal, and medicine.
It has regional campuses in Charleston, Keyser, Montgomery, Parkersburg, and Wheeling. Among its specialty research centers are the Center for Chinese Business, the Tobacco Research Center, and the Westvaco Natural Resources Center.
In addition, the institution oversees several graduate centers located off campus. One of the nation’s earliest personal rapid transportation systems was set up on campus in the 1970s. A significant collection of regional Appalachian culture can be found in the Wise Library. More than 20,000 students are enrolled.
