USA | University of Southern Indiana (USI) Fully Funded Scholarships 2026
The University of Southern Indiana (USI) invites students to broaden their academic and cultural horizons through a wide range of Study Abroad Scholarships for 2026. These fully funded opportunities help USI students explore the world through international research, internships, and study programs at top partner universities across the globe. Managed by the Center for International Programs (CIP), these scholarships aim to make global learning more accessible and rewarding for every USI student.
1. CIP Study Abroad Scholarships
The CIP Study Abroad Scholarships provide flexible funding for students enrolled in Fall, Summer I, or Summer II 2026 programs. With just one application, students can apply for all scholarships in this category. While they can apply for several awards, each student will only receive one.
Application Deadline: March 6, 2026
These awards help USI students overcome financial barriers to international learning while fostering academic excellence, leadership, and cultural exchange.
2. USI Study Abroad Ambassador Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes students who not only participate in study abroad programs but also inspire others to do the same. Recipients serve as Study Abroad Ambassadors, promoting global learning upon their return to USI.
Award Amounts:
- $2,000 for a full academic year
- $1,500 for one semester
- Up to $1,000 for summer or short-term programs
Eligibility:
- Open to all USI students accepted into an approved study abroad program that offers academic credit.
- Recipients must return to USI for either the fall or spring semester after their trip.
- Students must complete their ambassador project within six months of returning.
3. USI Global Engagement Scholarship
The Global Engagement (GE) Scholarship encourages students to engage with real-world challenges during their time abroad. The scholarship focuses on critical global issues such as public health, education, poverty, sustainability, climate action, environmental protection, peace, and human rights.
Award Amount: Up to $3,000
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be enrolled in a USI study abroad program with credit.
- Students must carry out a Global Engagement project that tackles a global issue.
- Recipients must return to USI and complete project deliverables within six months.
4. USI Study Abroad Diversity Scholarship
The Diversity Scholarship aims to create inclusive international learning experiences by supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds. It values cultural diversity, personal identity, and unique perspectives that enrich global education.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be degree-seeking USI students in good academic standing
- Open to students of all majors and class levels participating in USI-approved programs (short-term, semester, or year-long).
- Diversity includes cultural background, ethnicity, gender identity, disability, veteran status, or family situation.
- Selection is based on essay and interview performance rather than GPA or financial need.
5. Direct Exchange Scholarships
USI also provides exchange-specific scholarships for students attending partner universities through direct exchange agreements.
Exchange Program Scholarship:
- Award: $500 for the duration of the program
- Eligibility: Open to USI students earning credit at a direct exchange partner university (non-ISEP programs).
German Partner Exchange Scholarship:
- Total Funding: $10,000 (four awards of $2,500 each)
- Eligibility: Available to students participating in semester-long exchange programs at USI’s German partner institutions.
