Internship Details
- Organization: UNICEF – United Nations Children’s Fund
- Location: New York Headquarters or Remote (Hybrid option offered)
- Contract Type: Internship
- Timeframe: 6 months (Full-time, 40 hours/week)
- Inception Date: Immediately after selection, post-June 2025.
Interns’ Duties
- Examine UN Development System polls and ECOSOC dialogues.
- Prepare strategic reports and briefings regarding UN reforms (e.g., UN80).
- Attend and condense Executive Board meetings.
- Assist UNICEF’s participation in multilateral efforts (CEB, UNSDG, HLCP, etc.)
- Coordinate strategic partner discussions and interagency gatherings.
- Sustain intranet knowledge resources and oversee institutional history.
- Create social media posts that emphasize UNICEF’s efforts at the UN.
- Help with the preparation for meetings with principals, such as the Joint Meeting of the Boards.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, you need to:
- Be a recent graduate or presently studying in a Master’s degree program in International Relations, Development, Social Sciences, or similar areas.
- Possess excellent research, writing, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) abilities.
- Possess fluency in English (familiarity with an additional UN language is advantageous!)
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for UNICEF’s fundamental values: Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust, Accountability, Sustainability (CRITAS).
