Students achieving the top scores in this cohort will be chosen to win scholarships.

Scholarship Application Procedure: To be automatically eligible for this category of scholarships, students with outstanding academic achievements must apply and receive admission to SRU before December 1st.

SRU Scholarship for Out-of-State Students

Scholarships are awarded to many of the top-ranking applicants for admission to SRU. Priority will be granted to first-time, out-of-state students with a minimum high school GPA of 3.0. Students achieving the top scores in this cohort will be chosen to win scholarships.

Scholarship Application Procedure: To be automatically considered for this category of scholarships, candidates with outstanding academic records must apply and receive admission to SRU by December 1st.

Supplementary Academic and Financial Aid Scholarships

Besides Merit scholarships, SRU provides a range of additional academic-related scholarships.

The GPA criteria for these awards differ.

Scholarship Application Procedure: Students must submit their admission application by December 1st to ensure optimal consideration. Applications for admission filed post-December 1st will continue to be evaluated for supplementary scholarships until the spring. Students are urged to finalize the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.studentaid.gov

SRU Honors College Scholarship

The Honors College at SRU offers several advantages to academically gifted and driven students, such as smaller class sizes, travel possibilities, participation in honors conferences, and research prospects. Incoming students admitted to the Honors College may be eligible for an Honors College scholarship. Students seeking consideration for an SRU Honors College Scholarship must apply to the SRU Honors College.

Haverlack Exemplary Citizen Scholarship

The Haverlack scholarships are intended for highly motivated, high-need students who have a “Servant Heart” and a dedication to becoming future leaders in community service. Haverlack scholars are expected to embrace community service as a fundamental aspect of life at Slippery Rock University and beyond.

The SRU Civic Scholars receive sponsorship from the Frank & Margaret Haverlack Good Citizen Scholarship. Application Process

SRU Merit and Achievement Scholarships

Submit your application for admission by December 1st, 2024, to be automatically evaluated. These scholarships are conferred for high-ranking candidates with exemplary academic achievements.

SRU Non-Resident Scholarship

  • Submit your admission application by December 1, 2024, for automatic consideration.
  • Supplementary Academic and Financial Aid Scholarships
  • Submit your application for admission before December 1st, 2024, to maximize your chances. Finalize your FAFSA at studentaid.gov, as several scholarships have a need-based criterion.

SRU Honors College Scholarship
