In 1923, Pennsylvania State College, not yet a university, opened a branch school in Scranton to provide evening technical institute classes. The school adopted the name Scranton Center in 1951, aligning with Penn State’s General Extension program, and transitioned its offerings to associate degree programs in 1953.

- Initiate an application with the My Penn State Undergraduate Application.
- Contact snadmissions@psu.edu, providing your full name and Penn State user ID, to obtain a waiver for your application cost. The Penn State user ID comprises your initials and assigned digits.
- An email from Admissions will confirm that your charge has been waived.
