Additionally, pertinent professional or personal experience may be taken into account. An undergraduate degree is generally a prerequisite, although there may be instances where experience-based qualifications are considered on an individual basis. Please reach out to the department responsible for your program to obtain further information. International and EU students can get information regarding alternative qualifications on the university’s web pages dedicated to individual countries.

Requirements for proficiency in the English language:

If English is not your primary language, you must fulfill strict criteria for English language proficiency. The IELTS score required for each course is provided on the course website, along with other approved alternative qualifications. If you are looking to enhance your English proficiency, you should consider enrolling in a presessional course offered by the Center for English Language Education.

Important dates and deadlines:

Instruction for the majority of taught courses commences in late September, while a few courses have alternative start dates. Refer to the course website for specific information. Although applications are generally available throughout the year, the number of available spots is restricted, and programs may reach their maximum capacity. The university’s objective is to decide on your application within six weeks.

Foreign students: Submit your application at the earliest opportunity to allow ample time for processing your student visa application. Upon acceptance, it is imperative that you promptly acknowledge your offer and fulfill all stipulated requirements by early September, or as instructed by the admissions department.

References must be dated within a maximum of two years from the date of your application. Additionally, if your referee does not submit the references themselves, they ought to be on business letterhead.

Teacher training applications are submitted via DfE Apply, whereas applications for MA Social Work are processed through UCAS.

Tuition fee deposit for international students

International students enrolling in a full-time course are often required to submit a tuition fee deposit of at least £2,000 during the visa application process. This requirement may not apply to students who receive full support from a recognized sponsor. If you possess complete funding for your course expenses, kindly send an email to the university with a duplicate of your sponsorship letter, together with your complete name and application ID. Process of selecting:

  • Your application will be assessed according to your vision and a specific strategy for addressing significant issues in your place of origin, with an emphasis on achieving tangible results. These factors can encompass economic, environmental, social, or political aspects.
  • Integrate Your Studies: Effective applications will clearly illustrate how your selected program corresponds with your solution plan and enable you to accomplish your objectives.
  • Traditional factors that will be considered include those that demonstrate the “Developing Solutions” spirit. These applications will be evaluated based on traditional scholarship criteria, which include your reasons for selecting Nottingham and your academic accomplishments.
  • Ensure thorough preparation and adhere to all deadlines. Allocate sufficient time to meticulously construct robust solutions while adhering to the prescribed word limit outlined in the application. Applications that are over the limit may not undergo evaluation.

Information about the scholarship:

Acceptance of an offer Optional: You don’t need to accept your program offer before applying for the scholarship. Nevertheless, rewards are exclusively bestowed upon students who choose to enroll at the university.

Timeline: The outcome of your scholarship application will be communicated to you by the conclusion of June 2024.

Disbursement of Award: If you are granted the scholarship, the scholarship amount will be subtracted straight from your tuition costs. The university does not offer direct monetary disbursements.

Typically, it is not possible to combine Developing Solutions awards with Regional awards. Occasionally, you may qualify for the Developing Solutions scholarship in addition to another grant provided by your academic institution or for exceptional athletic accomplishments.

The university’s objective is to prevent the simultaneous granting of several scholarships, however, there may be instances where exceptions are made, provided that the total sum does not surpass 100% of your tuition fees.
