Sheffield Hallam’s Transform Together Scholarship

Study in UK | Sheffield Hallam’s Transform Together Scholarship 2026

Do you dream of earning a British degree but worry about the cost? Sheffield Hallam University has a solution that cuts your tuition by 50 percent. The Transform Together Scholarship for September 2026 is now accepting applications, offering international students a substantial fee waiver on full time undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses. For students plotting their route to a UK degree without a government sponsor or external funder backing them, this stands as one of the most aggressive fee reductions available right now.

This scholarship rewards merit, not financial need. Sheffield Hallam seeks students with strong academic records who can also serve as university ambassadors during their studies and after graduation. This dual requirement matters significantly. You cannot simply submit good grades and hope for the best. You must make a compelling case for why you, specifically, would represent the university well.

The university describes the selection process as competitive, which typically signals a limited number of awards. Applying early and crafting an excellent application gives you the best chance of success.

The Financial Package: What You Receive

The financial structure is straightforward, but understanding the details prevents surprises later. Here is exactly what successful candidates gain:

  • 50 Percent Tuition Reduction: The scholarship provides a 50 percent tuition fee reduction. This is not a cash grant or a stipend. The discount applies directly to your tuition invoice.
  • Undergraduate Duration: For undergraduate students, the discount applies to the first year of study only. After year one, you pay full international fees for the remaining years.
  • Postgraduate Duration: For postgraduate students on one year taught programmes, the 50 percent reduction effectively covers your entire course duration. This represents significant savings for a complete master’s degree.
  • Exclusivity Rule: You cannot combine this scholarship with other university awards, bursaries, or discounts. If you qualify for multiple offers, Sheffield Hallam applies whichever one has the highest value.
  • Remaining Costs: Deposits and any remaining tuition fees remain your responsibility before enrolment. The scholarship confirmation does not waive these upfront payments.

Eligibility: Who Qualifies

This scholarship targets a specific profile of self funded international students entering UK higher education with strong undergraduate results and no prior postgraduate qualifications. Check every box below before investing time in your application:

  • Course Offer Required: You must hold an offer for a full time taught course at Sheffield Hallam starting September 2026. Your application cannot proceed without this offer in hand.
  • Fee Status: You must qualify as an international fee paying student. The university verifies this during the admissions process.
  • Self Financing: You must be entirely self financing. No government sponsorship, employer funding, or external scholarship provider can support you. Family funded students do qualify under this rule.
  • Entry Requirements: You must meet the English language and academic entry requirements for your chosen course.
  • Academic Standards: Postgraduate applicants need at least a 2.1 or international equivalent in their undergraduate degree. This requirement ensures strong academic standing.
  • First Time Postgraduate: Postgraduate applicants must enter postgraduate study for the first time. Any prior postgraduate qualification from any country disqualifies you.
  • Exclusions: You cannot apply if you are already enrolled at Sheffield Hallam on the course you seek funding for. You also cannot apply if you previously received a Transform Together Scholarship at the same study level. Foundation programme students are not eligible, though they can apply once they progress to an undergraduate degree.

How to Apply

The process runs on three parallel tracks. Completing all three before the deadline ensures your application receives full consideration.

  • Track 1: Apply for Your Course. First, apply for your course through Sheffield Hallam’s online prospectus and secure an offer. Without a confirmed course application, the scholarship form holds no value. Submit all required documents and wait for a decision.
  • Track 2: Complete the Scholarship Form. Once you have your offer, complete the Transform Together Scholarship application form. This separate form asks you to articulate your academic achievements and your potential as a university ambassador. Generic answers about wanting to study in the UK will not distinguish you in a competitive pool. Be specific about your goals and your ability to represent the university. You will also need your eight digit Student Identifier number, which Sheffield Hallam assigns after processing your course application. No SI number on the form means automatic disqualification.
  • Track 3: Submit Your Transcripts. Email your academic transcripts directly to globalscholarshiptranscripts@shu.ac.uk. The transcript must show your final results including percentage, GPA, or CGPA. Incomplete transcripts will delay or derail your application.

The university strongly recommends accepting your course offer before the scholarship deadline. They reserve the right to prioritize applicants who have done so.

The Deadline

You must submit your completed Transform Together Scholarship application by 31 May 2026. Results will arrive by the end of June 2026, exclusively via the email address you provide on the scholarship form. Double check that address and monitor your spam folder through the end of the month. Sheffield Hallam does not offer individual feedback on unsuccessful applications, so your submission represents your only shot at making the case.
