Study in UK | Africa Scholarship 2026 at the University of Lincoln

The University of Lincoln is pleased to announce the opening of applications for its prestigious Africa Scholarship for the January 2026 intake. This scholarship offers an excellent opportunity for students from across the African continent to pursue postgraduate taught studies at one of the UK’s modern, research-active institutions. Designed to support academic achievement and encourage global engagement, the scholarship reflects the university’s strong commitment to international education and cultural diversity.

The Africa Scholarship provides eligible students with financial support toward the cost of tuition fees, making postgraduate education in the UK more accessible. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, meet the English language requirements, and hold an offer to study a full-time master’s program at the University of Lincoln. This initiative not only helps students advance their academic and professional goals but also enriches the university community with diverse perspectives and experiences. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early and consult the University of Lincoln website for full details on eligibility, available programs, and application procedures.

Supporting Postgraduate Study

The Africa Scholarship aims to assist driven students from African countries intending to pursue full-time postgraduate taught courses at Lincoln. This program offers financial support through a reduction in tuition fees, alleviating the expense of studying abroad while promoting academic achievement.

Africa Scholarship Value

During the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years, the Africa Scholarship provides a tuition fee discount of £4,000 or £5,000, which is implemented in the initial year of study. The amount of the award is based on the academic qualifications of the applicant.

  • £5,000 Grant: Open to students with a Bachelor’s degree comparable to a UK 2:1 classification, or those who have finished a Pre-Master’s or a similar postgraduate qualification with excellent results.
  • £4,000 Grant: Awarded to students possessing a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK 2:2 classification, or a Pre-Master’s degree with similar achievements.

Students who join a Pre-Master’s programme will obtain the scholarship once they advance to their primary postgraduate programme.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Africa Scholarship, candidates need to:

  • Be citizens of, or possess permanent residency in, an African nation (with Egypt featuring a distinct scholarship program).
  • Possess a Conditional or Unconditional Offer from the University of Lincoln for a full-time postgraduate taught course starting in September 2025, January 2026, September 2026, or January 2027.
  • Along with this award, qualifying students might also be eligible for additional fee reductions, like the Advance Full Payment Discount or Early Payment Discount, worth between £1,000 and £1,500.

Why It Matters?

The Africa Scholarship demonstrates the University of Lincoln’s dedication to fostering inclusive chances for international students. The scholarship programme seeks to draw skilled graduates from all over Africa to become part of Lincoln’s dynamic postgraduate community by providing financial assistance and acknowledging academic accomplishments.
